MEET THE YOUNG WOMAN WHO LEFT THE U.S TO OPEN A FOOD TRUCK IN GHANA

2019 marked the Year of the Return in Ghana. The tourism campaign called for descendants of the African diaspora to return to the continent and partake in the rich history that Ghana has to offer. As a result, over one million visitors traveled to the country last year, including famous celebrities, to encourage African Americans and others within the African diaspora to return to their roots.

Goldman Sachs strikes its first major deal in Kenya with a $23.75 million stake in agro-based firm, Twiga foods

Top American investment bank Goldman Sachs has struck its first major deal in Kenya worth $23.75 million.

Goldman Sachs has acquired a stake in Kenyan start-up, Twiga Foods, following a Sh2.44 billion ( $23.75 million) deal with the agro-based firm.

He’s Trying To Fill In The Gaps On Google Street View — Starting With Zimbabwe

One of the first things people do when they use Google Street View is check out the place where they live.

So when Tawanda Kanhema moved to the United States in 2009, he looked up his hometown of Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital city, on the map of panoramic images. A self-described tech enthusiast now some 10,000 miles away from home, he was eager to see a virtual tour of the city.

Abbott expands presence in Africa with opening of East Africa HQs in Kenya

Abbott, a leading global healthcare company, announced Thursday the opening of its second office in sub-Saharan Africa at The Watermark – Nairobi Garage Business Park.

The new office will function as the headquarters for the company’s operations in East Africa and is intended to support expanded growth opportunities for Abbott, both locally and in the region. Abbott’s other office in sub-Saharan Africa has been based in Johannesburg, South Africa, since 1940.
